The NPPA has also revised/ fixed the prices of 42 formulation packs on 2nd April, 2003. While in case of 32 packs, prices have been revised downwards, in 7 packs, price have been increased. Prices have been fixed for the first time for rest 3 packs. Out of 42 formulation packs, ceiling prices have been fixed in respect of 24 packs. The formulations for which ceiling prices have been fixed/ revised include products based on bulk drugs like Erythromycin Estolate, Aspirin, Multivitamin with Selenium, Chloroquine Phosphate and Frusemide etc. These formulations are used in various treatments/ diseases like Bacterial infection, Cardiovascular diseases, Malaria and Diuretic etc. The prices have been fixed / revised in accordance with the provisions of the DPCO, 1995. The prices fixed/revised would become effective within 15 days and the manufacturers/ importers are required to issue the revised price list to NPPA, State Drugs Controllers, Distributors etc.
