The NPPA has revised/ fixed the prices of 75 formulation packs on 3rd September, 2003. While in case of 70 packs prices have been revised downwards due to reduction in price of scheduled bulk drugs. Prices have been fixed for the first time for remaining 5 packs. Out of 75 formulation packs, ceiling prices have been fixed in respect of 42 packs. The formulations for which prices have been fixed/ revised include products based on bulk drugs like Ranitidine, Pseudoepedrine, Trimethoprim, Famotidine, Glipizide and Betacaroten with Vitamin etc. These formulations are used in various treatments/ diseases like deficiency of Gestro-intestinal disease, Cough & Cold, Bacterial infection, Diabetics and Anti-oxidants etc.
The prices have been fixed/ revised in accordance with the provisions of the DPCO, 1995. The prices fixed/revised would become effective within 15 days and the manufacturers/ importers are required to issue the revised price list in Form-V to NPPA.
