Explanatory Note

Subject: Fixation/Revision of prices of bulk drug Tetracycline Hcl and Corrigendum to SO No. 473 (E) dated 16.5.2000 regarding notification of price of Vitamin E.

NPPA has revised the price of bulk drug Tetracycline Hcl from Rs. 931/Kg. to Rs. 782/Kg. vide notification in the Gazette of India Extraordinary No. S.O. 1065 (E) dated 29th October, 2001. The price has been revised under the provisions of DPCO, 1995. NPPA has also issued a Corrigendum to SO No. 473 (E) dated 16.5.2000 regarding notification of price of Vitamin E. The copies of the notifications issued in this regard are enclosed. The notifications are also available on the NPPA website www.nppaindia.nic.in.

The revised notified price shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette. All the manufacturers of the formulations utilizing the drug in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of DPCO, 1995 with regard to pricing of the derivative formulations.
