Subject: DPCO, 1995-Fixation/revision of price of bulk drugs Cloxacillin Sodium(Oral Grade) and Trimethoprim.

NPPA has revised the prices of two scheduled bulk drugs viz. Cloxacillin Sodium (Oral Grade) and Trimethoprim from Rs. 2356/kg. to Rs. 1421/kg. and from Rs. 1172/kg. to Rs. 865/kg. resulting in reduction of 40% and 26% respectively vide notification in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Nos. S.O. 189E and 190E dated 3.3.2000 . A copy of the same is enclosed. The notifications are also available on the NPPA website www.nppaindia.com.

The revision of price of Cloxacillin Sodium and Trimethoprim was carried out by NPPA based on the analysis of available data.

The revised notified prices shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette. All the manufacturers of the formulations utilising these drugs in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of DPCO, 1995 with regard to pricing of the derivative formulations.
