Subject: Retail Store Audit Report on Generic Sale Drugs.

Sir,

You are aware that a large number of manufacturers including organized sector companies have started marketing their drug formulations directly to the trade without involving sales promotion through medical profession / media publicity etc. This type of marketing is being generally referred as ‘generic sales’. NPPA has been receiving references / complaints regarding huge trade margins offered to the trade by the manufacturers to the detriment of consumers. In this context, it has become necessary to have detailed data on ‘generic sale’ drugs. It is therefore, proposed to sponsor a study on the subject. NPPA is interested in exhaustive data on the subject and a report in the form of a Retail Store Audit Report published by ORG/IMS (exclusively covering generic sale drugs). Additional information on retail price printed on the label of the medicines is also required. The panel of retailers needs to be selected keeping such sales in view. This one time report shall provide annual estimates of different products marketed by various manufacturers in the domestic market. In case your organization is interested to take such a study, a quotation with terms and conditions may please be submitted to NPPA within 15 days.
