Subject: Study/revision of norms for CC, PC PL & PM for the year 2009.

Sir/Madam,

            The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has decided to revise/ fix the norms for Conversion Cost (CC), Packing Charges (PC), Process Loss (PL) and Packing Material (PM) for the year 2009 as per the provisions of DPCO’1995.

2.  Norms for CC, PC, PL & PM are to be based on the actual cost data and information received from various manufacturers and formulators. The soft copy of the detailed questionnaire can be downloaded from the official website of NPPA i,e. www.nppaindia.nic.in.

3.  The information and data in respect of your pharma units, may be furnished in a soft copy on Compact Disk (CD), along with duly signed hard copy and a copy of your Annual Report for the last two years i.e. 2006-07 & 2007-08.
4.  The actual cost data & information as per the questionnaire be addressed to Director (Formulation) NPPA, YMCA Cultural Building, 5^thFloor, 1 Jai Singh Road, New Delhi – 110 001, latest by 15.02.2009 by speed post / registered post in a sealed cover to maintain confidentiality of the data.
5.  The data & information of any new product introduced with the technology & process of manufactured be intimated separately along with the detailed write up on the process involved. In case of any clarification, or doubt you may please contact the undersigned.
6.  Suggestions are also solicited to the Questionnaire for a suitable method of indexing the variable & major cost elements, which constitute CC & PC and the appropriate basis for indexing process losses.
