PRESS NOTE

Subject: Fixation/revision of price of bulk drugs Tetracycline Hydrochloride Cefotaxime Sodium (Sterile), Cefazolin Sodium (Sterile), Cefadroxyl Monohydrate and Streptomycin Sulphate under DPCO, 1995.

NPPA has revised the price of bulk drugs Tetracycline Hydrochloride from Rs. 1959/Kg to Rs. 931/ Kg, Cefotaxime Sodium (Sterile) from 26985/kg. to 11658/kg., Cefazolin Sodium (Sterile) from 15979/kg. to 13250/kg., Cefadroxyl Mononhydrate from 7036/kg. to 5475/kg. and Streptomycin Sulphate from 2100/kg.base to 2381/kg.base vide notification in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Nos. 833 (E), 834(E), 835(E), 836(E), and 837(E) dated 15th September, 2000. The above prices have been revised on the basis of available information under the provisions of DPCO, 1995. A copy of the same is enclosed. The notification is also available on the NPPA website www.nppaindia.com.

The revised notified prices shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette. All the manufacturers of the formulations utilising this drug in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of DPCO, 1995 with regard to pricing of the derivative formulations.
